Thank you for choosing Alight Movement. These policies are designed to create a smooth experience for every client while protecting the time, preparation, and personalized care that goes into each session. By booking an appointment or enrolling in a membership, you acknowledge and agree to the following policies.
Appointments are available by advance booking only and are subject to availability.
Appointments may be scheduled online through the booking portal or by contacting Alight Movement directly.
Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment to ensure you receive the full benefit of your session.
All first-time clients begin with a Movement Strategy Session.
This comprehensive session includes a discussion of your health history, movement goals, baseline assessment, and recommendations for the most appropriate services moving forward. Beginning with an assessment allows every session that follows to be more personalized, effective, and goal-oriented.
Movement Maintenance sessions are reserved for returning clients who have already completed a Movement Strategy Session or are active members.
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled with at least 12 hours' notice.
Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 12 hours' notice may result in the session being forfeited or charged in full.
Membership appointments canceled within the 12-hour window will forfeit the coaching credit used to reserve that appointment.
If an unexpected illness or emergency prevents you from attending your appointment, please contact Alight Movement as soon as possible. Emergencies will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Please arrive on time for your appointment.
Late arrivals may result in a shortened session in order to remain on schedule for other clients. Sessions will end at the originally scheduled time, and the full session fee or membership credit will still apply.
Clients who fail to attend a scheduled appointment without notice will forfeit the session or applicable membership credit.
Repeated no-shows may result in the loss of any recurring booking slot.
Memberships are designed to provide consistent coaching and long-term progress through recurring movement and recovery support.
Membership benefits include:
Monthly coaching credits
Credit rollover
Personalized coaching
Access to virtual coaching for eligible services
Ongoing movement programming and progress tracking
Memberships require a three-month minimum commitment.
Memberships automatically renew each month until canceled.
Membership changes or cancellations must be requested before the next billing cycle.
Membership benefits and coaching credits are intended for the enrolled member only unless otherwise specified.
Membership coaching credits renew monthly and automatically roll over if unused.
Credits have no expiration as long as the membership remains active.
Unused credits cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded.
Credits may only be used for eligible services included within your membership.
All services, classes, memberships, coaching credits, gift certificates, and prepaid appointments are non-refundable.
If Alight Movement is unable to provide a scheduled service due to circumstances within its control, every effort will be made to reschedule the appointment.
Exceptions to this policy may be considered only under extraordinary circumstances and are evaluated at the sole discretion of Alight Movement.
Alight Movement is currently a mobile coaching practice and does not operate from a permanent studio.
Appointments are held in the location best suited to your goals, which may include:
A rented wellness or treatment space
A fitness facility
An outdoor location
A virtual session
Another mutually agreed-upon environment
First-time appointments are not conducted in clients' homes.
Once an established coaching relationship has been developed, select services may be available as in-home appointments when appropriate.
The appointment location will always be confirmed prior to your scheduled session.
Travel fees may apply for appointments outside the standard service area.
Virtual coaching is available for all memberships and select individual services.
Virtual sessions are designed to help clients maintain consistency while traveling, recovering at home, or when in-person appointments are not possible.
The same scheduling, cancellation, and membership policies apply to virtual appointments.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate health information before participating in services.
If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, fever, a contagious condition, or have recently sustained an injury that may affect your session, please notify Alight Movement before your appointment.
Certain services may be modified, postponed, or declined if participation is not considered appropriate or safe.
Movement coaching is a collaborative process.
Clients are encouraged to communicate discomfort, limitations, or changes in health throughout their sessions.
Following personalized recommendations, home exercises, and movement strategies between appointments plays an important role in achieving long-term results.
Questions regarding appointments, memberships, scheduling, or services are welcome.
Responses are provided during normal business hours. While every effort is made to respond promptly, immediate replies cannot be guaranteed outside scheduled appointments.
Alight Movement reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services when they are considered unsafe, inappropriate, outside the scope of practice, or if client behavior is disrespectful, threatening, or violates these policies.
Everybody moves differently, and progress looks different for every client. While movement coaching, assisted stretching, and recovery practices can improve mobility, flexibility, strength, recovery, and overall movement quality, specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Long-term results are achieved through consistency, active participation, and following your personalized recommendations both during and between sessions. Alight Movement is committed to providing individualized guidance and support, but your progress ultimately depends on your commitment to the process.
Alight Movement classes are designed to provide a welcoming, supportive, and respectful environment for participants of all experience levels. The following policies help create the best experience for everyone.
Advance registration is encouraged, as class sizes may be limited.
Registration closes at the scheduled class start time unless otherwise noted.
Some programs may require registration for the full series rather than individual drop-in attendance.
Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before class begins to allow time to check in and get settled.
Classes begin promptly at the scheduled start time. Late entry may not be permitted for certain classes to minimize disruption and ensure participant safety.
Late cancellations or no-shows may result in the loss of the class credit or registration fee.
If Alight Movement cancels a class, participants will receive a makeup class, class credit, or refund when applicable.
Missed classes are generally non-refundable.
For multi-week series, missed classes do not extend the program or guarantee a makeup session unless otherwise stated for that specific program.
When applicable, class credits may be used for eligible classes before their expiration date.
Memberships and class packages are non-transferable unless otherwise specified.
Please participate at a level that feels appropriate for your body.
Inform the instructor of any injuries, medical conditions, pregnancy, or limitations before class begins.
Participation is always voluntary, and you are encouraged to modify or rest whenever needed.
Participants are responsible for their personal belongings.
Alight Movement is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Alight Movement is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.
Respectful behavior toward instructors, staff, facilities, and fellow participants is expected at all times.
Disruptive, unsafe, discriminatory, or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from class without refund.
Outdoor classes are subject to weather and park district or venue regulations.
If weather or unsafe conditions require cancellation, participants will be notified as soon as possible and offered a makeup class, class credit, or refund when applicable.
Occasionally, photos or videos may be taken during classes or events for promotional purposes.
If you prefer not to appear in photos or videos, please notify the instructor before class begins, and every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate your request.
Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring children arrive on time and are picked up promptly after class.
Please notify the instructor of any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, or accommodations that may affect participation.
Behavior that repeatedly disrupts the learning environment may result in a conversation with the parent or guardian and, if necessary, removal from the program.
Alight Movement is built on the belief that movement should be accessible, encouraging, and free from judgment. Whether you're attending a class, participating in a workshop, or receiving one-on-one coaching, every person deserves to feel respected, supported, and empowered in their movement journey.
Everyone is encouraged to move at their own pace, celebrate progress over perfection, and contribute to a positive experience for the entire community.
By booking an appointment, purchasing a class, service or membership, or participating in any Alight Movement offering, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these policies.
